The terms credenza, sideboard, buffet, server and even console are used interchangeably nowadays by both furniture makers and shops. The distinctions between these pieces which were once defining are now mere formalities, often overlooked. Still, some details are still there. Call it what you will — a credenza, sideboard or buffet. It doesn’t matter what room you put it in, it is a stylish addition to the room that is a handy storage spot for all sorts of items. In a dining room, a buffet can hold dinnerware, while in an office or entryway, a credenza can stash papers, books and other necessities. Whatever style of decor you favor, there are lots of great new credenzas to choose from.
